CANTA NUVEM – FEMAL VOICES IN TODAY’S JAZZ BIZNIZ
FEMAL SINGERS – SONGS DOWN FROM THIS CLOUD
In this essantial mix I am going to present you my choice of most amazing female singer and songwriters of the new generation: Austrian songwriter, guitarists and singer Mira Lu Kovacs with her project Schmieds Puls, Portuguese-born and US based singer Sara Serpa, Simin Tander who has Afghan and German roots and is part of the Dutch and German jazz scene – and the Netherland singer Dina Medina with roots in Cape Verde.
Four rising stars with songs from their recent albums in the mix with some of my all time favorites: Maria João, Flora Purim with Airtoa, and all linked by three songs without words by Jordi Sabates (1975), Jovino Santos Neto (2011) and Moacir Santos (2001).
